A world-class literary extravaganza taking place each year over two days in Downtown Berkeley. All our programming—250-300 authors on 15 stages—is accessible with one pass, and our Outdoor Fair, a wonderland of literary vendors, kids’ activities, and family fun, is totally free. Over the years, they’ve showcased more than 1,250 speakers who come from the Bay Area, the state of California, the nation, and world; their international contingent is one of the largest among U.S. book festivals. Since their founding, they’ve thrilled more than 125,000 book-lovers of all ages.
